MIXED MEDIA

These are samples of my personal work that combine my passions for abstract photography & landscape painting. It has been a body of work in development for the past several years since leaving the big city and the film business behind. I love living in the country but I am still a city girl at the core and the city is ever present in this work.

It is mixed media because there is at least 2 distinct media being used. The process is exhilarating: the photograph is just the starting point, the subject gets pushed out of its context and through the use of layered colour the media on top pushes the media underneath a little further out of the "box".

If a finished piece happens to live at my house for a while, I will push it further by adding more to it, thus letting it evolve again until I have made my statement and can set the piece free.
